Vintage Comic Book Ads

This past garage sale season I didn't find much along the lines of video games. I did however find a few houses that had boxes and boxes of old comic books. Most of the comics are from the mid 60's to the mid 90's nothing super rare or valuable. I looked around the boxes and picked out a few comics that leapt out at me as being interesting. I got a few Spectacular Spider Man's from 1977 and a few Batman's from the 80's. Coincidentally they both featured the Scarecrow despite one being from 1984 and the other from 1988.

I am by no means a comic book collector and had a passing interest in checking out the art and seeing what the old Batman and Spiderman books were all about. I just got around to reading them and absoloutely loved them. I wish I could have picked up them all up! Here are some scans of some interesting ads a few of them featuring Atari and Nintendo Ads.

I figured I should share some of these awesome advertisements. Depending on the feed back I get from this page I may or may not go through some more of my old comics and scan some more ads. I do plan on talking about a few of these old books on future episodes of MCTV. Especially Tales of the Unknown Soldier...I love that comic!
