Elf Dance 2 an Essay

Posted by JerryTerrifying On 1 comments

An essay on Elf dance 2

In this essay I will consider the social, economic and political factors of Elf dance 2. In depth analysis of Elf dance 2 can be an enriching experience. While it has been acknowledged that it has an important part to play in the development of man, its influence on western cinema has not been given proper recognition. Since it was first compared to antidisestablishmentarianism much has been said concerning Elf dance 2 by the aristocracy, trapped by their infamous history. Hold onto your hats as we begin a journey into Elf dance 2.

Sega CD Nightmares #4 - Lunar

I never thought I would actually buy a single game so many times.  If you go back to an older video where I first discovered that Lunar SS had 7 variants I was devastated and didn't even consider that I would get all the variants.  Especially considering that each copy can fetch anywhere from as "low" as $30 all the way up to about $90 a piece. Depending on which variant you are after and who else might be bidding against you of course.

Dark Souls review

Posted by Anonymous On Friday, October 21, 2011 1 comments

Obvious spoiler alert. I go into some length about the story.
I feel that people have really misunderstood the difficulty in Dark Souls.
I have witnessed a number of people claim the game has 'fake' difficulty, and that it's cheap and its 'difficulty' comes only through trial and error. Frankly, these people fucking suck and have misunderstood the game. Similarly retarded are those who claim the game, apparently like Demon's Souls, has 'no story'. But this is a review and not a discussion of other people's opinions, so I'll end my digression here....for now.
Unlike Demon's Souls, Dark Souls begins with a rather unique introduction to an absolutely spectacular world. Several Lords who were born of fire happen to be tired of, what appear to be, indifferent, everlasting Dragons. So the dragons are hunted down by these Lords and after that the story is left up to the player to unravel

All of this is crowned with the best holiday on the calendar Halloween. It's the only time you can proudly display your coffin on your front lawn, drive around in your hearse with out odd looks and go up to strangers demanding free candy while dressed up like Zombie Buddy Holly. Here's a list of five video games that will help you get into the Halloween spirit.

The nice header might tell you where I  am today. So while I am sitting here in the conference area at home in front of my computer resting my legs and airing out my sweaty feet. I thought it would be a good time to share some of my experiences.

The day started off waiting in a line.  Exciting I know, but at least the big nerd next to me brought his 3DS and played some fighting game that had a partially nude and big breasted  fighter.
The doors opened at 9am for press and pre-orders.  So we hoarded ourselves through the gates and began hunting.

The size of the location this year was at least 2x bigger than last year!

I was going through an old gaming magazine from the mid 90s and saw a few ads for the Xband modem the precursor of the Netlink.  So I decided to scan those ads and toss them on the website.  Oh, and there's also a Sega Channel ad which is kind of related.  Enjoy!

Sequel Rant: The Prequel Part 2

Posted by Gooch On Friday, July 22, 2011 1 comments

Nowadays video game sequels are more common place than they have ever been. Some are released on a yearly basis, and others take their sweet old time. However, more development time isn't always a good thing (Yes, I'm looking at you Duke Nukem). It's almost guaranteed these days that if a game sells well, then a franchise it will be. (Sorry Duke Nukem). There are several who snub at the notion of yearly releases, while others thrive in the predictability as if it's video game Metamucil. Personally, I have mixed feelings on the topic, and for some reason felt the need to rant about the subject for a while.

Modern games aren't as good as retro games!

Posted by JerryTerrifying On Thursday, July 14, 2011 2 comments

How many times have you seen this conversation online in forums, YouTube videos, tweets or articles?  I completely disagree with that statement.  People tend to only remember the all time best era defining classic games which taints their perception.  Ten years ago people were making the exact same arguments and probably will make the same argument 10 years in the future.  What generation of gaming do you think is the best in gaming history?  If you answered anything other than now or the future you are wrong and I'll tell you why.

PCDX Gameplay Series: Street Fighter 3 Trilogy (Dreamcast, PS2.) (Complete)

Posted by Retrokaiser On Monday, June 13, 2011 0 comments

Hey guys. Just gushing out a quick playthrough before I go on holiday.

This edition I playthrough the 3 versions of Street Fighter 3.
I used the Dreamcast version of New Generation & 2nd Impact. Both versions can be found on the collection disc titled, Street Fighter 3 Double Impact (US/EU), Street Fighter 3 W Impact (JPN).

3rd Strike was played with the PS2 version. Which can be found on the Anniversary disc for the US, or by itself in JPN. 3rd strike only came out in EU on the xbox version of the Anniversary disc.

Enjoy guys. Click read full article to see videos.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic - review

Posted by Anonymous On Sunday, June 12, 2011 1 comments

Dark Messiah is a game that got off to…a little more than just a messy start. When it was first released, it was filled with bugs that got the game a rating of mediocre by most. And that’s understandable, the game should be released when it’s ready, not when it’s filled up the ass with graphical glitches ‘n such. And its reputation has been hampered even more by the pathetic port to the Xbox 360 that removes key aspects of the games combat and RPG elements. But Dark Messiah is far more than mediocre. It’s a wonderful action RPG with what I consider to be, the most immersing first person perspective ever.

Thoughts on Tripwire Interactive

Tripwire Interactive is an extremely overlooked developer.
They have created an outdated World War 2 FPS, back when they were relevant, and a zombie FPS, back when they too were relevant.

Seven Samurai vs. The Magnificent Seven

Stepping away from what I normally talk about (video games and anime) in this video I compare two great films and see what's similiar, and what's different other than the blades and hand guns.

Mondo Cool Game Night

Posted by JerryTerrifying On Wednesday, May 18, 2011 12 comments

Now that the PSN is back I've been spending quite a bit of time getting my fix of online gaming.  Which has got me thinking I need to organize a Mondo Cool Game Night.  Of course I'd want to play games on Xbox Live as well.  But what games to play?  I'll write up a list of games that I have that have online multiplayer but what I'd really like to see is some suggestions in the comments!

Sega Mega Modem FAQ

Posted by JerryTerrifying On Tuesday, May 10, 2011 0 comments

I was browsing the forums over at the Saturn League when I came across this FAQ for the Sega Mega Modem.  The Sega Mega Modem was a dial up modem for the Sega Genesis.  I've heard of it before and even heard of or seen promotional materials saying that Sega was bringing the Mega Modem to the states but that's about all I know about it.  I contacted the author rush6432 and asked if I could post it on my website just so a few more people might see this.  I'm glad to have this on the site as I'm always interested in knowing more about early attempts of networking on gaming consoles.

Venture Bros borrows from Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic

Posted by JerryTerrifying On Monday, April 11, 2011 3 comments

Classify this under old but I just now connected these dots.  I just finished up the game SW: Knights of the Old Republic and it was one hell of a ride.  After taking a year or more off after getting halfway through the game I saw the main villain Lord Malak again and he reminded me of someone.  Baron Underbheit from the Venture Bros!  You have to admit this is a little much to just be a coincidence.  Especially when you take a look at this second picture.
