Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare Game Breaking Glitch and Fix

Posted by JerryTerrifying On Monday, December 31, 2012 3 comments

While visiting my brothers house for Christmas I borrowed RDR: Undead Nightmare from my nephew.  When I started the game I had this glitch that is in the video.  It swaps around character models in some unique ways.  The problems arise when you have to hog tie certain characters that are swapped out with dead mountain lions.  You can't hog tie the dead mountain lion making it impossible to get past that sequence.  After some googling and scouring some youtube comments sections I figured out how to solve the problem.  I hadn't played RDR in a long time and it had an older patch after updating the main game I was good to go.  Figured I'd toss this up on the site so that any one else that stumbles across this glitch just might come across this article and find the solution a little bit quicker than I did.

DVD Review: Arakawa Under the Bridge Season 1 (2010)

Posted by Retrokaiser On Sunday, December 30, 2012 0 comments

Arakawa Under the Bridge is about a Yuppie (you know those rich successful young pricks you see drinking Starbucks) named Ko Ichinomiyo who gets his pants stolen and put on top of a bridge by a gang of young hoodlums. Ko does get offered some help by the beautiful but weird Nino but refuses because of his family motto “Never get into debt from anybody” he also has this printed on his tie. While climbing the bridge one of the beams break and falls into the river dragging him with it and all he does is nothing but complain about it while drowning. Lucky for him he is saved by Nino and to express his appreciation he complains even more about how he has to repay her for saving his life. Ko ends up settling for being her boyfriend and moves in with her. As weird as she is there are much more weird people living under the bridge like a guy in a turtle costume, a washed up rock star in a starfish mask, a very rude but very beautiful farmer, two kids in iron masks, and a cross-dressing nun with a gun. DVD Review: Golgo 13 (2008-2009) Volume 4

Posted by Retrokaiser On Sunday, December 9, 2012 0 comments

Golgo 13 is an episodic series about the hit-man Bruce Togo (also goes by the name Golgo 13) and the jobs he is paid to do that range from, assassinations , sabotage and even protection jobs. The show has a very basic layout, guy pays Golgo, Golgo goes to pay for weapon he needs, Golgo sleeps with a hooker, Golgo picks up weapon, Golgo waits for the right moment to strike, Golgo completes job. This formula can feel repetitive but hardly ever boring which is one of best things about the show. Volume four (also known as Part 4 in Australia and Collection 4 in America) is the final volume of the series and includes episodes 38 to 50 (a bit surprised that this show lasted that many episodes). After the disaster that was volume three I nearly gave up on the show completely but after watching this one I'm glad that I decided to give it a watch as it has everything that drew me into the show in the first place. DVD Review: C Control (2011)

Posted by Retrokaiser On 0 comments

C (also known as C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control) is about a economic student named Yoga who just wants to earn money to support a family (nothing wrong with that). Problem is that he can barely seem to stay awake during class with him having two jobs and up all night studying (looks like his chances of him passing on to a good well paying job is looking pretty slim). One night he is approached by Masakaki who is some weird little demon like dude who offers Yoga a chance to earn some big money in which Yoga refuses at first (there's an anime cliche right there). Yoga eventually takes the offer and is taken to a place called “the financial district” where he must battle other people in what feels like a fighting game. Luckily enough Yoga is not alone in the battle as he is given a familiar (also known as assets in the show) named Msyu to battle with.  (Click "Read More" for full review).

DVD Review: The 33D Invader (2011)

Posted by Retrokaiser On Friday, December 7, 2012 1 comments

The 33D Invader is a Hong Kong adult sci-fi comedy about a girl named Future who travels from the year 2046 to look for a nice healthy young man to impregnate her. She ends up in 2011 Hong Kong where she ends up staying with a group of nerds who just can't seem to get any action, minus one guy who has a girlfriend and funny enough that's the guy Future wants to have her way with. Sadly Future is being hunted down by two robot rapists (robots who rape people and not the other way around) named Xucker 1 and Xucker 2. Xucker 1 is a male while Xucker 2 is female and their goal is like something out of the Terminator franchise but instead of wanting to kill Future they just simply want to rape her as once a Xucker rapes a person (male or female) it will make them sterile and also turn them into a sex zombie.  (Click "Read More" to see full article).

EVANGELION EXHIBITION TO TOUR AUSTRALIA IN 2013.

Posted by Retrokaiser On Friday, November 9, 2012 0 comments

Australian fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion rejoice!

Australia is getting a touring Evangelion exhibition next year:

"Madman Entertainment, in collaboration with NTV Films, Japan Foundation Sydney, The Arts Centre Gold Coast, and the Gold Coast Film Festival, are proud to announce a 2013 event tour that fans of Japanese popular culture and the EVANGELION franchise will not want to miss.
The exclusive exhibition will offer anime/manga, sci-fi and pop culture fans of all ages a unique and extensive insight into how the famed EVANGELION animated films were created – showcasing a collection of original concept and production art, character drawings and other key artefacts that provide a rare and fascinating glimpse at the behind the scenes artistry of Japanese anime film production.
A variety of rare and valuable EVANGELION books, statues, tapestries and other items will also be on display.
The exhibition will be on display at the Gold Coast City Gallery from Wednesday 17 April – Sunday 5 May 2013, followed by Sydney at the Japan Foundation Art Gallery from Friday May 10th – Saturday May 18th, and finally in Melbourne with a location and dates yet to be confirmed.
In the EVANGELION films - thus far, comprising EVANGELION 1.0: YOU ARE (NOT) ALONE and EVANGELION 2.0: YOU CAN (NOT) ADVANCE - fourteen year old Shinji Ikari is called to Tokyo-3 by his estranged father, who heads up a secret government agency in charge of the development of a gigantic humanoid weapons system designed to fight alien invaders called Angels.
Despite the emotional burden of not having seen his father in 8 years, Shinji is enlisted to pilot the giant artificial human ‘Eva Unit One’. In the explosive ongoing storyline full of brutal action and primal emotion, Shinji becomes a key member of a group of young pilots tasked time and time again with manoeuvring their towering cyborg Eva Units into combat against a relentless, deadly and disturbing enemy.
The third film of the series, EVANGELION: 3.0 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO will be released this week in Japan and follow at a date to be confirmed in Australia in 2013.
Stay tuned for more information in the lead up to this exciting event."

I might have to check out the Melbourne leg of the tour, if that ends up being the case expect to read all about it in a future issue of Mondo Cool Monthly.

Golgo 13 Part 1 DVD Review

Posted by Retrokaiser On Sunday, July 29, 2012 0 comments

Golgo 13 Part 1 (Volume 1) contains the first 13 episodes on 2 discs. The show revolves around a hitman named Bruce Togo ( a complete Badass by the way ) and the jobs that he has accepted usually from sleazy business men or corrupted politicians .

I actually watched this one with the English dub and found it to be OK. It is not bad by any means but some of the dialogue comes off as very cheesy and hammy. Although this does add to the fun making it feel an 80s action film. The Japanese dub is included for those who like to watched their anime subbed.

The animation and designs are pretty good, it has a very dark seedy look to it. The way the violence is portrayed is one of the elements which makes this show enjoyable. Terms of violence while not extremely gory it doe's have some graphic stuff in it; like when you see people getting shot in the head. There are also some sex scenes and nudity both of the male and female kind  most of it is female nudity. This also adds to it feeling like an 80s action film. However I did think that some episodes overdid the sex scenes.
(Rest of review is after the jump)
