Pedro, one of he MCC's listeners, is starting a series of videos looking at old video game magazines. The video is in Portuguese but if you turn on the CC there are English sub titles. The Mondo Coolmunity is a truly international group of video game fanatics. :D I like seeing old gaming publications especially now that the team has started their own so I'm more than happy to help Pedro get a teeny tiny bit more exposure to this video series. Also he sent me a very flattering PM on youtube, that never hurts your cause. :P

I will have to go and download the Metal Gear readings. Even though they're awful, they're charmingly awful and entertaining.
I don't know why LucasArts wanted BF3 to die. It is documented that George Lucas refused payment from the films in order to get a huge cut from all the related merchandise sales. He gets no money from the movie profits. However, everything related, from games to t-shirts to Lego sets to candy, pays his bills (and made him exponentially more money than the alternative - they even made a crank about it in SpaceBalls).
I agree with FPS improving your attention to minor details. I cannot believe I'm saying this, but video games have made me better at work.

In relation to nationalities of characters: Gray Fox is half Vietnamese, half white, it says so in the translated Metal Gear 2 instruction manual. And Naomi is indeed from South Africa. During a Codec transmission in Metal Gear Solid, Naomi mentions that Gray Fox picked her up in Rhodesia-formerly a country which is now part of South Africa.

Hey Jared, it has been awhile since I’ve written in to show, so I thought I’d toss out an e-mail, as to not lose my status as the number one Terror-Fanatic! First off, I finally manned up and finished Issue 1 of Mondo Cool Monthly, it was both beefy and diverse, well worth the 2.99 price tag. For me it was also a nice throw back to the days before internet and video reviews, back to when getting that monthly Game Pro in the mail was something special. Call it corny, but there is just something a lot more personable about reading a magazine over some of the horrors that come with looking at stuff on the internet. MCM PDF 4-life!
In regards to the last podcast, I’ve got to say that I really enjoyed you and Shintai’s back and forth about RPG time limits, while I agreed with your points, Shintai was so passionate about his, I didn’t know what to believe anymore. Regardless Chrono Trigger is the fucking shit!
Also who’d you rather do, Poison from Final Fight or Fat Princess from Fat Princess?
Shintai, pick an argument and stick to it. Arguing about 5 seconds being there or not to shorten battle time is not the same argument as why that 5 second period is there in the first place.
