Alright, it's time for some old-school thrills and chills this week on My Life with Sega. Today, I'm reviewing Quake for the Sega Saturn. Sure, everyone has played it, but I fuckin' love this game.

That's what I thought. LOL! Quake really is a fantastic game on Saturn. Just make sure you have the 3D controller. It's a righteous pain in the dick without it.

"Quake had me at Hello and now its makeing me a sandwich." Nice! Im a big Quake fan myself, it was the first time I played an FPS with a mouse and keyboard, and I never looked back. I personally wouldnt enjoy it with a controller, but graphics and framerate wise it is very close to the PC. Its more a taste thing I guess. Anyway good review!

LOL! Thank you. My first experience with a first-person-shooter was Doom, then Dark Forces, and Duke Nukem 3D, and Alien Trilogy.... I played 'em all, over several different consoles as well as PC. I grew sick of the whole genre after awhile. Then I played Quake on the Saturn. Totally fuckin' awesome. It just clicked with me. Glad you dug the review, bro.

I basicly played every major FPS on PC (and consoles) up to Quake 3, and got sick of the genre at Counterstrike. I think Half Life 2 got me back again. Id say the two best console FPS games (mind you I havent played alot of them) would be Golden Eye and Halo 2. If more console FPS games would support Mouse and Keyboard controls, Id play them more, the only one I know who has that support is Unreal Tournament for the Dreamcast. I always liked the Sega Saturn, and that controller looks cool. Who knows, maybe one day if I have some cash and some luck Ill get both.

Loved Golden Eye. It's one of the few things that I miss about owning a Nintendo 64. I think I may have Unreal Tournament for the Dreamcast. I'll have to rummage through my game boxes. The 3D controller for Saturn is pretty solid. I'm a big of that UFO-lookin' fucker because I have such big hands, and I love the analogue stick. Using the standard Saturn controller is a major chore. It hurts the experience for me.
